The Purpose That Drives Within Us

I see myself as a little girl opening a large heavy wooden door. It is opening easily for me. Pure light fills the other side of the threshold.

I take a step in. I am filled with wonder and joy as I touch the air which feels like fabric of intense peace. Light slowly flows up my arm to spread to my head and to the rest of my body in completeness. I am standing brightly within His light. I relax and laugh as a squeal of delight flows from my spirit. I still sense the pain and aches in my physical body, but I choose to turn my focus again to the spiritual realm and trust Jesus. I take His hand […]

What Am I Thinking About?

Sometimes it is hard to be a follower of Christ. Especially when his teachings can be hard for us to follow. Let’s take a look at a sermon Jesus gave…
Read Mark 7:1-23

Why is this teaching hard?
What is Jesus communicating here?
Am I really accountable for my thoughts?
Is it even possible to control my thoughts?

Let me share this verse with you.
Jeremiah 17:10, “I the LORD search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
Read also Psalm 7:9, Jeremiah 11:20, Jeremiah 20:12,
Rev 2:23b  And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.

How do […]

Where Is God’s Comfort?

Last week we talked about comfort and our need to ask God for comfort. Let me review that a little bit and kind of break that down again.

When we are struggling with pain and suffering, all we really want is for it to stop. We ask God to take care of it. If nothing happens we start bartering with God, then we please and beg. Get mad. When nothing happens we will look for a sin issue, or try to work up our faith to make it stronger.

Then we start to get really upset, maybe at God, or the situation, others or even ourselves. This is when it can feel like we’ll never be okay again. We may feel like our […]

Walking With God…. Moment By Moment

Being a child of the Living God gives us wonderful privileges and opportunities. God desires to walk beside us every moment of our day, even in the good and the bad. Below is an excerpt from As God Sees on how to keep holding onto our Lord’s hand through it all.

Stay daily in the Word of God – It alone is our standard of all truth, know it, love it, memorize it! Everything has to come back to Scripture.
Stay in prayer – Seek God every day through prayer. Talk to God and give Him the opportunity to speak to you. Try to stay in constant prayer throughout the day. (Ephesians 6:18)
Journal – Journaling is a great way to stay focused on […]

“Humility” Can It Become A Powerful Four Letter Word?

This advent season as I read, study and share the Christmas Story of Jesus, I am struck, once again, by the humility exemplified by the King of Glory. Jesus left the grandeur of eternity to be born an infant who was then placed in a manger. What a stark contrast. One moment Jesus was in the presence of God in Heaven, the next in the presence of livestock in a, for lack of a better word, barn. In that one iconic moment, God revealed to man

Fixing The Tough Times

Is life tough right now? Are you trying to find a way out, a way to make things right or comfortable? Our Lord has a word for us who are always trying to fix tough times in ours (and, ok, I admit it) others’ lives.

“Wait. Come to Me. The situations and people I bring to you are not always for you to escape from or try to fix. Much happens for your learning, testing and growing. Don’t run away. Don’t succumb to the circumstances. Come to Me. Stay with Me. Let Me show you what blessing and truth I have for you. You may just find the peace within the storm that you would never find without it.”

Situations Are Not Always As They Appear

Ever been in a situation where later you realized your perception of the events and people involved may have been skewed? The challenge is to not view the situation through your eyes, or even what others may be thinking, but from Jesus’ perspective.

“Situations are not always as they appear. The hearts of My people are found within Myself. To rise above the emotions or lies of challenges before you, come to Me. I alone know the fullness of truth and want to give to you wisdom, love and power to overcome the situations you face.” – Jesus

Impossibilities with Men are Canvases for Jesus

“In the impossibilities I do My work. Most of My people think My work is when things are going well and view issues and problems as roadblocks they should not cross. The whole “shut door” teaching. Children, do you not know a whole crowd of witnesses are watching you? That your testimony and faithfulness in the impossibilities are proclamations of My power and majesty? No, you cannot do this project alone, but you can with Me. Impossibilities with men are canvases for Me. Do you not understand? I want to do miraculous work! I want to move and flow outside of man’s physical reasoning! Look at My Word? When am I working? When am I bringing glory to My name? Even […]

God’s Priorities

God’s priority is that we are right with Him. We are of more worth than anything we could value here in this life.

It is easy to get caught off guard or swept away by the world and situations we find ourselves in. It seems to be almost a constant struggle to not let them control us or build within us an overwhelming anxiety. My life is filled with demands from what seems like every direction. And they all seem to press with an intensity that I cannot bear on my own. It is at those times Jesus gently reminds me of His priority – to be right with Him. 1 John 1:9 tells us all we need to do is […]

To Love Your Enemy is to Love God

”My peace is found nowhere else but with Me. Reconciliation is difficult, many run away from it with others as well as Myself. It is difficult to face the one you have conflict with face to face.”

“The shame, guilt or fear grips within, which is why most people cannot face the other they have a conflict with so they flee. It is the same with Me. But, there are significant differences facing Me versus another person. Not only do I know the heart and mind of the one coming before Me, but I also know the intent. Is the one approaching Me in humility or in arrogance and blame? I know. I renounce the proud by giving […]
