Learning in Eternity

Jesus takes me to a massive library within His realm. It is filled with many books of different sizes and colors as far as I can see. As I look up at the extreme height of the bookshelves, I realize there is no ceiling. Above us is openness which a view of the Father on His throne in the distance. All the books seem to radiate with light and understanding which lure me to them. Jesus calls me to Him as He sits down in a white chair. I notice a chair across from Him for me to sit. I look around at the gorgeous polished wood tables scattered throughout the aisles, but between Jesus and myself is nothing but pristine […]

Eternal Aspects of Our Lives

Jesus hands me a large book with gold edges. “Open it.”

I gently open the book as light and images appear. The images move as multi-dimensional videos of moments of my life with each page turn. As I view the pages, flashes of my sin and bad decisions come to my mind, but none of those were in the book.

“All that is not of Me is washed away with your repentance and humility. I know you remember everything while on earth, but it brings you bondage. Here, in eternity, this is what you will have and will only remember, for all else is washed clean. Each moment of pure joy, innocence, prayer, worship, anything done for Me or of a pure heart, […]

Who Does Jesus Choose To Proclaim His Truth?

Jesus tells me, “Write this down. Some take My truths as if to be handled as a currency of different values.” I see multiple coins and bills from many different countries. Jesus continues, “They believe My truths can be taught as figures of men. They do not seem to understand My truths supersede and extend beyond their biased understandings and logic. Look as the verse Paul writes about not allowing women to be leaders over men. If they would comprehend the voice within them saying how man dominates women to the extent of piracy or dominance, they would understand that women were uneducated then and unable to teach. But yes, who spoke of My coming to the multitude before I arrived? […]

Do Christians Need to Observe the Sabbath?

Old Covenant versus New Covenant
Before I answer that you need to understand that there are two Covenants, an Old Covenant (Also known as the Mosaic Law) and a New Covenant. We who profess Jesus as our Lord and Savior are under the New Covenant. Jeremiah 31:31-34 describes this New Covenant and it was established when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. (See Matthew 26:28, Hebrews 9:14-17, New Covenant or is it Renewed?). Now why is this important? Because without a clear understanding of when the New Covenant started and what it means to us we could easily get confused when reading the Bible. So we see from the above scriptures that the New Covenant has begun and if […]

The Law Makes Us Righteous?

A friend involved with the HRM movement shared with me, “Justification (salvation) is through faith by grace. Sanctification (holy living) is through the Mosaic Law.” Further, he explained, that although they acknowledge salvation is through Jesus alone, one must obey the Mosaic Law through the power of the Holy Spirit in order to continue in the faith so as to be considered righteous before God. He shared how in the Old Testament it was impossible to obey all the Law because they did not have the Holy Spirit indwelling within them. But now it is.

This explanation seems to be logical, until you really think about what Jesus accomplished on the cross and in His resurrection. 1 Peter 3:18-22 shares the power […]

Obey God’s Commandment

We read in John 14:21 that Jesus is telling us if we love Him, we will obey Him. This is used by the HRM to prove we are to obey the Mosaic Law. Let’s look at this verse and surrounding Scriptures a bit closer.

John 4:15-31 is a beautiful discourse from our Lord Jesus about His relationship to those who believe in Him. He also shares with us a greater truth, the love and relationship the Father has with His children because they follow Jesus. He begins in John 4:15 by declaring those who love Him will obey His commandments. This is repeated several times in the next few verses. The question is, “Whose commandments are we to follow?” It is […]

Jesus or Yeshua?

There is a growing controversy over the correct name to use for talking about, Jesus, the Son of the Most High God. For some it seems, the only correct name to use is Jesus’ Hebrew name Yeshua. There are many excellent, detailed articles (such as this one) about how we in America have come to call the Messiah, our Savior, “Jesus”. Let’s take a different look on the subject.

How Jesus Answered

When John the baptist was locked up in prison, he sent his disciples to ask Jesus if He was the Christ, the One they had been waiting for. Jesus, in His wise way of answering John’s request, gives us even more insight about Himself. Matthew 11:4-6 […]

New Covenant or Is It Renewed?

Jeremiah 31:31

Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah

The Hebrew Roots Movement often refer to this verse to explain how the new covenant that Jesus offers (Luke 22:20) is “renewed” based off of the Hebrew word for “new” used here.

2543 חָדָשׁ (ḥā·ḏāš): adj.; ≡ Str 2319; TWOT 613a—1. LN 58.70–58.75 new, i.e., pertaining to that which is recent, new, not old 1

Strong’s Hebrew #2319 2319. חָדָשׁ chadash (294a); from 2318; new:—new(47), New(2), new thing(1), new things(2), something new(1).

We see in the Dictionary of Biblical Languages with Semantic Domains as well as in the Strong’s Concordance, the work “new” […]
